Welcome to Design and Sprout! Our founder, Abby Thompson-Nava, hails from the small town of Cowgill, Missouri, with a population of just 200 people. Abby grew up surrounded by nature, helping out in the garden and working on the land. It was there she developed a love for creating DIY projects, a passion that would stay with her throughout her life.

After moving to the city, Abby met the love of her life, and together they built a family of five. Their entrepreneurial journey took them to Houston, where they launched a successful cosmetic business that eventually grew into a thriving franchise. Along the way, they started and sold multiple businesses, but Abby’s heart always remained connected to her country roots.

Now, Abby and her family are back to their roots, embracing the country life once again. Through Design and Sprout, they’re sharing their journey and the projects they’re learning along the way. We’re here to inspire you to embrace sustainability, healthy living, and the joy of DIY home and garden projects.
